RECAP: ONE PIECE FILM GOLD

RECAP: ONE PIECE FILM GOLD

Holy shit where do I begin?

I just finished One Piece Film Gold and I have so many random thoughts while watching so lets get into it.

First the plot.

The Straw Hat Pirates set sail for Gran Tesoro. The largest entertainment place in the world. Basically it's Las Vegas in the One Piece universe. The Straw Hats are treated with such hospitality on their visit to Gran Tesoro but underneath it all everything isn't what it seems.

Okay here are my random thoughts.

THIS RICH GUY HAS SOME MOVES

Gild Tesoro is dancing his ass off like Ric Flair in his prime. The suits he wear are ugly as shit but the dance moves can't be denied.

ACTION OUT THE GATE

The movie kicks off with the Straw Hats kicking ass. I was very pleased. The fight sequence was fucking dope at the beginning along with the introduction of each member of the Straw Hats. The intro to the film was flawless

ANIMATION

The animation was crispy as a 3 piece from Popeyes. Flawless animation with so much more detail than I used to when I'm watching One Piece.

SOUNDTRACK

Very smooth and jazzy tunes throughout the movie. I'm going to need that ASAP.

LIMITED EDITION STRAW HAT HEAD GEAR

Luffy has a red helmet similar to the helmet that fat kid in the movie "Little Giants" wore and Zoro has a green hat he's wearing like he's Terry Bougard from Fatal Fury. I want that green hat. I like Green hat Zoro he should wear it all the time.

TEAM NO BRA'S

There is no woman in this film with a bra on or with titties smaller than a double d. I wouldn't expect anything less from the One Piece world. Seriously. Nami, Carina, The Luck Luck Fruit chick, and Nico titties got bigger and bigger each scene.

NAMI HAS A PROBLEM

Nami needs to call 1-800-BETS OFF. That is all.

SUIT UP STRAW HATS!

The scene of the Straw Hats attempt to dress formal in all white was a really dope sight. Luffy is dressed like Raoul Duke from "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas" minus the cigarette holder.

Sanji is the only one dressed to kill. All white suit with his chest showing. Sanji was dressed like he was ready to pull every bitch in Gran Tesoro.

GILD TESORO

I must say that Gild Tesoro was a formidable opponent.

Hideous Pepto Bismol colored suit? Check.

He's wealthy? Check.

Incredible Devil Fruit powers? The Gol Gol Fruit. Check.

He's an asshole? Check.

He's bathing in gold with bitches? Check.

Gild was really worthy of being the boss of this film. From his powers to his personal philosophy. He kept me interested and on the edge of my seat.

ROB LUCCI

Rob Lucci and his bird dressed like twinsies. How does a bird get fitted for a suit?

OCEANS ELEVEN

I felt the plan the Straw Hats tried to do paid homage to Oceans Eleven. Flashy City. Huge fortune to score. An evil arrogant dickhead to steal it from.

CHOPPER'S BATTLE GEAR

Chopper looked like The Great Gazoo from The Flintstones.

THE MESSAGES

There were a lot of messages in this film about how money destroys people more than it helps.

The kid who was a slave saying "We can't be free if we have no money."

Gild saying "Those without money in this world can't accomplish anything."

Luffy saying "I won't be controlled by something so ridiculous (Money)."

Luffy letting Gild know that money has no value to him or his dreams was some powerful shit and words we should all live by. Luffy cares about his dream, meat, and his friends and that's all. Money has never been a factor in Luffy's journey and it will never control him.

THE FINAL FIGHTS

It feels like an eternity since I've seen Zoro have a great fight. I feel like we've been robbed of that in recent arcs but in this film he finally got busy a little bit.

The rest of the crew fights weren't really that great to me. They were just around and that's it.

Luffy of course is fighting his ass off.

IF LUFFY SCREAMS YOUR NAME ....

You're about to get your ass beat.

SABO VS LUCCI

YOU'VE GOT TO SHOW THAT FIGHT!!!!! WE WERE ROBBED!!!!!!!

ARC WORTHY

This film could've been an arc. It was that good. It would've had me excited weekly. All the elements of a great arc were present.

Great Villain. Great setting. Great story. Great motivation.

I'm kinda sad it wasn't an arc.

Overall this was a great movie and worth buying on blu-ray assuming if it ever comes out.
