IT'S ABOUT CHANGE & RECREATION

There are a lot of things people fear. If I created a top 10 list of what people feared the most, there’s one word I guarantee would be on that list…..

Change. 

When I see people get angry, change is incoming. 

When I see people afraid, change is on the way. 

When I see people happy, change has happened. 

Change is like a Swiss Army knife. It can be used in different ways and alter emotions in many directions. The reaction is so strong to change because it ’s either recreating people, places, or things. 

I was listening to Pink Floyd. I’m listening to their discography from its genesis and what I noticed is how much change the band had to experience. Pink Floyd started out with traditional rock and evolved towards progressive rock with a more psyche-rock sound. The next change was toward more conceptual albums. One of the biggest changes was the departure of band member Syd Barrett who was the foundation of the majority of the band's songwriting. 

Learning Pink Floyd’s history, what stood out to me the most is that throughout all the change it took 6 years and 7 albums to reach their magnum opus “The Dark Side Of The Moon.” So much change occurred before that album. The band were against and afraid of some of the changes but once Pink Floyd embraced change they created some of the greatest music of all time. Dark Side Of The Moon is in the top 10 of highest selling albums of all time. Adjusting to change helped Pink Floyd get to that point. 

I’ve been thinking about change and recreation all last week. Reason is because I wasn’t happy with some of the decisions I’ve been making. It’s small decisions but small things add up so I had to check myself and break down what changes I need to make. How do I recreate myself? Am I fake if I recreate myself? Is this not being real? 

Here are some keys to recreating yourself.

UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF YOUR MIND

I had to understand that the mind is the portal to the universe. The mind is the first step for recreating who you are. I could hop in a rocket and go beyond the clouds but I won’t achieve an understanding of the universe even though I’m amongst the stars. Your mind is the key to everything. Your mind can acquire information without a limit. I can’t help but believe that consciousness is a fundamental force of the universe. Without consciousness the universe wouldn’t be the same. Our brains are made of the same atoms and molecules of the universe. 

I’m sure you’re thinking “I can’t even wake up on time” how is my mind that powerful but yet I see the opposite in society. The average reading level in America is the sixth grade level. We have the most powerful tool ever created in our head and we don’t nurture it. Think about the last time you talked about your mind? When’s the last time you’ve researched your mind? Majority of society has their mind on auto pilot. We don’t even think about what we do or why we do it. We just exist. 

Connecting with your mind is how you become spiritual. After you open your mind and work with the universe and not against the universe then you can become spiritual. 

FIND VALUE OF SELF

Next you look inside of yourself and find value. What do you value about yourself? What do you value about yourself that’s worth improving and evolving? Once you find what you value inside of yourself you manifest it to exist outside of yourself. Make it tangible. When you bring what you value out of yourself you bring value to your surroundings and the people you keep around yourself. 


If you look at everything in this world. Every creation comes from within. Look at nature. It’s from within. We’re from nature and we’re the same way. Look within and bring it outside of yourself. 


CLEAR EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE

Declutter emotional baggage. It doesn’t matter if the baggage is cheap or if it’s Goyard, it's baggage that’s not serving you if you never question why you’re feeling those emotions. Emotions affect how we move day to day. If you’re carrying emotional baggage and you’re not addressing it. It’s like having a wound and never treating it and pretending the wound isn’t there. If you don’t treat it you risk infection which can lead to a more severe injury than what you started with. It’s important to be aware of how you’re feeling and why you’re feeling the way you feel. 

It’s like physical clutter in your space. How can you have clear thoughts if your space is cluttered? Clear space equals clear thoughts. 

THE RIGHT FOODS

Food is fuel. What are you putting in your body daily? If you’re eating and drinking sugar everyday you aren’t giving your mind or body a chance. Sugar is deadweight. It has no nutritional value at all. Think of your body as a car. You’re not just putting whatever in your gas tank right? Just gas. Sit down and think of how many things you’re eating and drinking that have actual nutrients and nourish your body. The right food will have you sharper and on point. 


EXPRESSION

Expression. If you make art, make art. If you write then write. If you make music, write songs and record them. If you podcast then start podcasting. Whatever you do, express yourself. It doesn’t matter if you think it’s good or bad, just express yourself. Never hold it in. 

It’s necessary. If you recreate yourself. You create the reality you dreamed of.
