WHAT THE FUCK I LISTENED TO YESTERDAY
ST.LOUIS ART & MUSIC SCENE IS ONTO SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL. WITNESS THE GREATEST. START HERE. OKAY? READY? GO!
MVSTERMIND - CUSP EP
Writing this fresh from my first experience of Delmar Hall and I thank god I got to see a friend bring a dream to fruition on stage as my first experience. Congratulations to Mvstermind. A solid dude and an incredible artist. What a special time for St.Louis.
CUSP is a project of a man realizing who he is. What he stands for and how he will approach life moving forward. It's bigger than him and I feel he knows that all too well. Cusp EP is Mvstermind's light bulb moment and him growing as an artist. From serious moments such as "Ain't No Water In The Water Tower" to the hype "Sway" Mvstermind covers all bases on "CUSP." Whatever you want on this planet just plan it. Mvstermind is proof of that.
"CUSP" will be available October 25th.
JAYDEE - WAVES
Not to be confused with one of the greatest producers to ever live. R.I.P J.Dilla. This project was brought to my attention in my email so I told myself I'd give it a shot A.S.A.P. I'll say this about Jay Dee. He's one of the most organized young artist in St.Louis.
When I usually hear artists around his age they're usually all over the place and difficult to listen to. Sometimes it works in their favor but majority of the time it doesn't. Jay Dee has a solid project in "WAVES." Different flows, consistent lyrics, nice production. Jay Dee is definitely the future of the STL music landscape. FRESHANOVA - LAST TIME
Freshanova Friday's continue on with the latest wave "Last Time" and it's even extended for anyone to hop on. I actually might do something to that if I can make time. It's a fun instrumental. Also check out "Pull Up" with Myrion Twos also which is also that shit.
4DEEP X SEALS - FIELD DAY MUSIC VIDEO
Seals providing that real shit. 4Deep providing that real shit so it makes sense that they hop on a track together and fuck the streets up. The Filmlord bless the artists with his eye and we have something legendary fresh out of St.Louis. The Filmlord is behind some of the greatest videos St.Louis have ever seen in my opinion so based on that I think you should peep his latest work with 4Deep. If you want to work with him get in contact with him on twitter @duckinfope Aint shit free of course so come correct.
Yall see Chad "I'm one with nature" head ass at the beginning of the video? Hahahahaha! That's my nigga. Check out the homies video below.
BLOOM - XCHXO! MUSIC VIDEO
So I'm sitting down in Delmar Hall watching Mvstermind perform "CUSP" and he brings Bryssa and Bloom out to perform "Fall Together" and the performance is going great. I'm sitting next to this white woman while I'm watching the show.
Bloom performs her vocals on the track and I swear to the great lord the look on this white woman's face next to me was priceless. She literally looked like she seen a ghost or seen Kurt Cobain rise from the dead eating a sno cone. She wasn't expecting that voice and the WHOLE venue got quiet when she sang. No lie. Side conversations done. Everybody. Silent. My favorite moment of the night in Delmar Hall. Don't sleep on Bryssa either. Her voice and performance was amazing also.
About 20-30 min before that moment, Jessica (Director of XCHXO!) asked me if I've seen Bloom's video she filmed. I told her no. I wasn't on any social media for 2 days so I didn't know it dropped so I said I'd check the video out when I get home. She said "I'd be in for a treat." Welp she wasn't lying.
Let's get this out the way before I continue. Titties are in this video and the funny thing is I didn't even notice until maybe the 4th time I watched the video. Bloom's voice captures thee fuck out of you. You ever see one of those horror movies about the paranormal shit? Her voice grabs you and tosses your mind and soul around the room like those ghosts do those white people in those horror movies. Her voice isn't evil and doesn't want to harm and kill you is the only difference.
If her voice can make a nigga like me not notice titties then you better believe this woman is God or a star in the making.
Usually when I see titties I'm like .......
But when she sang I didn't care about nekkidness my soul just left my body like.....
She has a voice that commands your attention. I can't picture anyone on their phone while she performs. She has the type of talent and voice that doesn't come around often.
The video is really simple but of course that's because I'm only watching the finished product. I'm sure it took a lot of time to put this 2 minute video together. The funny thing about it was that Jessica told me they didn't even plan to shoot this video. It just happened while they were downtown. Gotta love when things just fall together (You see what I did there?).
Watch this beautiful video. Please. I beg of you. My nosey head ass probably would've wrecked my car if I was driving while Bloom was shooting XCHXO! on the bridge. If you want to work with Jessica Page contact her at http://www.jessicajpage.com/
