FOR JUICE WRLD
Another young human has left the world very early. I didn’t know Juice Wrld at all. Never heard a song he made. I only knew that he did a mixtape with Future and I just found out he was on Lil Bibby label. I didn’t even know what he looked like until I seen his face on a R.I.P Youtube video. I’m just gonna share my thoughts about the things surrounding his untimely passing.
Just reading the things about his death is crazy. He died the same day as John Lennon and he had an eerie bar about John Lennon in his music and then the not making it to the 27 club bar and foreshadowing that he wouldn’t make it past 21 was very surreal too.
I don’t know his cause of death just like everyone else. I just know he had a seizure in an airport. The common consensus that everyone came to in the youtube comments was that his drug habit was the cause of his early demise. I don’t know why I was even reading YouTube comments. That’s idiotic in itself but the more things like this happen there will always be someone who doesn’t like thinking to comment on the situation or events. Just simply saying “Quit drugs” is the most ignorant shit I’ve ever read and heard. That’s all I saw in the comments.
Heroin has been in my family for some years. I’ve seen family I love use it with my own two eyes. The strongest people I looked up to were a slave to this drug. Same with alcohol. Pills. You name it. Simply saying “Quit drugs” will not cut it. Addiction is real. If addiction was so easy to overcome you’d have healthy people all over the planet. I saw some overweight people making comments about addiction being easy to overcome. Okay. I wonder if I told them to eat fruits and veggies everyday for 6 months cold turkey how easy it would be. It wouldn’t be easy because they’re addicted to eating bullshit. Everybody addicted to something and it’s hard to overcome.
Your mind is the strongest opponent in your life. It knows your weaknesses. It knows your body. It can manipulate you. It’s the most complex creation. You have to not only overcome the drug but your mind too. Quitting drugs is a lifelong commitment. Some of these drugs you just can’t quit cold turkey and your body goes back to normal. What if Juice Wrld actually did quit drugs and the seizure was just a withdrawal? It happened to Fredo Santana. He was clean for 7 months and the after effect of drug abuse still took his life. Quitting some of these substances really requires going to a hospital and getting tests and treatment to prepare for the withdrawals. Your body is still dependent on the drugs to function. You have to do a complete life change. The drug the major part of the puzzle. You have to literally become a health nut. Eating clean. Drinking clean. Exercise. A healthy sleep schedule. Keeping a low stress level. Change your circle to prevent relapsing. A complete lifestyle switch. No one is doing that overnight. Especially a famous person. Anything that can STILL harm you after quitting it for 7 months is a disease not a choice. Point blank. Imagine quitting baseball and then having seizures a year later because of baseball even though you haven’t played it. That would be crazy to you right?
Juice Wrld is a celebrity that travels everyday living out of hotels, Gets no sleep, Doesn’t eat healthy cause he’s always on the go, Is surrounded by vices everyday because his peers probably still partake in those activities. A major label doesn’t care about his health they just care about the next hit he can make and the money he can generate for them. They’re not giving him a therapist, a nutritionist, a trainer, none of that shit. The kid didn’t stand a chance. He was in a game that’s ruthless and moves so fast and it’s fans make the music so disposable it’s damn near career suicide to take a leave of absence and make a lifestyle change because they won’t even know who you are when you come back. That’s a tough decision to make for a person his age. You finally not poor anymore. You supporting your family with your career and now you gotta pause your career in the fastest moving music genre in the world? I’ve forgotten more rappers than I’ve actually listened to. That’s how fast the game is. If we were in his shoes we wouldn’t give up our career immediately either. Remember what Mitch was going through in Paid In Full? He had enough money to leave the drugs alone but all he kept thinking about was his position and would people still love him if he wasn’t in the game anymore. The game is vicious and we don’t talk about how they use these kids like pawns.
That’s just my thoughts and I’ll end it here. For all the people who never heard Juice Wrld’s music like me but want to become fans after he passed don’t let nobody stop you. Jam his shit. I had some friends who didn’t listen to Nipsey Hussle when he was alive and now that’s all they play. You’re human. You feel terrible about what has happened. Playing his music is an honor to him and a sign of respect. Don’t let these people who always on the internet when someone has passed talking that “Oh now you a fan” shit stop you from paying tribute. Someone life was lost and it’s normal to feel that even though you were unaware of their work. Death always puts things in perspective for people. Rest in paradise Juice Wrld.
Peace
