WHAT THE FUCK I LISTENED TO YESTERDAY
Great birthday weekend that was. More friends. More weed. More love. #LongLiveFinesse
This should actually be called "What The Fuck I Watched Yesterday." Fuck it.
BLOOM - [SIN]SES RELEASE SHOW
First. I stroll up in the concert high and happy. Second. Whoever suggested to move the concert to The Thaxton is the MVP.
No disrespect to the Mad Art Gallery because it's a very nice place also but The Thaxton just fits the tone of Bloom's personality and art.
I step in and I'm just wondering where in the fuck am I? The dim lights. The chair set up. The ceiling looks like the sistine chapel. I feel like I was in that Phantom Of The Opera play. The atmosphere felt like...... Sin.
Her performance was so incredible that I felt like I was the only person in the room watching the show. Bloom has this aura that just hypnotizes the fuck out of you. Her voice just makes you feel so many different emotions. I had no idea what I just witnessed at all.
I had to leave early to go home and write but for those that missed the show I can't wait for you all to hear the EP because it is fucking amazing start to finish.
LST MBRS - 4 SUMN (SHOT BY THE FILMLORD)
I fucks with The Filmlord's work. So much care goes into what he creates for us to see. A eerie, fresh, dark visual to go along with the dark music. You can't really see anyone's face. Everybody in the cut. Great video.
TESZLA - HOLD (SHOT BY JESSICA J. PAGE)
A beautiful voice. A beautiful song. A beautiful simple video. Watch as Teszla gets a hold of your soul.
BRYANT STEWART - WHO ELSE GON' FEED YOUR SOUL
This project kinda hit home for me because I have ties to all 3 young men who were the victims of the news report interludes you hear on this project.
I know everybody go through similar shit in other places but I can't really explain what it is about St.Louis that makes it so violent here. Shit really stresses a nigga the fuck out. The sad part is that when you try to live through the pain and enjoy the great shit here like our upcoming art scene people continuously focus on the negative shit. Never on how to improve it.
I like how this project shines light on the different emotions you have living here in St.Louis. One day you're like "I love this place" then the next you'll be like "I need to get the fuck outta here." All our minds work like that. We're human.
Overall a dope listen and gives you perspective to the outsiders of the mentality of a St.Louis Native and the conflict we experience.
DELONEY - VIBES FROM THE TROPIC BOX
Damn it feels good to be black. It's the feeling you get from this project. The westcoast style production makes it perfect to slide in the streets to. It's upbeat, smooth, and has a message. The sounds are so versatile and I'm going to roll a few joints and vibe out to the vibes from the tropic box. Just wished I had a old school chevy to play Rose Quartz in.
ANTHONY LUCIUS - THE STUDIO OR RELATIONSHIP (SHOT BY LOUIS QUATORZE)
A man trying to balance his work life and his personal life. I like the old school feel of the video and the spots he chose to shoot in front of (The Fox, Plantation). Another gem shot by Louis Quatorze.
THE DOMINO EFFECT - PROTOCOL (SHOT BY TKND)
I love Sonic The Hedgehog and this song samples that so I'm putting this joint back up. A great video of The Domino Effect showasing their skills on the mic. Collect your chaos emeralds and check the vibes. Side note. The Gohan Super Saiyan turn in the video was ILL!
Love, Benny is available now. =)
