WHAT THE FUCK I LISTENED TO YESTERDAY

WHAT THE FUCK I LISTENED TO YESTERDAY

Friends. Crown Vanilla. Weed. Super Smash Bros (Brawl and Melee). Music. Love. The past 2 days have been quite relaxing. Back to writing I go. What the fuck I listened to yesterday?

TESZLA - ART&B VOL 1

Immediately off the rip I liked the fact Teszla didn't sound similar to Jhene Aiko or FKA Twigs. There is this trend going on with singers where majority of them sound like those 2 artists right now.

I understand that's how trends work and there are no ideas original or nothing new under the sun but it's nice to hear someone sing and not remind me of those 2 artists. Someone who has their own lane.

Art&B Vol 1 is a very emotional project with soft/soothing vocals and dark production. She does a great job of taking you through her feelings about a love interest and showing the listener that these feelings aren't just random. There's a foundation for them all.

I really liked "Choosy" and "Worth It" a lot. Very smooth work overall.

THE DOMINO EFFECT - SATELLITES

The Unknowns return with a new EP covering everything from Black Excellence to St.Louis tradition to smoking the finest gas the city can offer (I'm on that track by the way).

Spacey production. Relevant subject matter. Good lyrics. It's a discussion of the pros and cons we face in society.

Light one up and stare at the satellites. They're watching.

Check The Domino Effect "Protocol" music video also.

SEAN DEAUX (DOVA) - VICE CITY 2

This project is a Friday. What I mean by that is every track on here reminds me of a Friday night. Good or bad. Every song feels tailored made for me to slide in the streets to on a Friday night.

I'm chilling eating some fried rice and I'm thinking to myself as "JR Smith" is playing. Why isn't this played at all the functions in St.Louis and why don't I have some cheeks to rub or gas to blow while listening to this? I'm at a real disservice but at least I have the music.

The whole project is an experience and that's why I fuck with it.

JSMN - A LLAMA BROKE INTO MY HOUSE AGAIN

Well if the llama brings fruit snacks I wouldn't be too upset for it's crime. It could be worse. At least it wasn't a bear. Nothing is fucking with bears bruh. Llamas at least help humans. They like to carry lots of shit. I'd just ask the llama to carry my student loan debt. I got a lot of that shit for it to carry.

This song is as random as the artwork and that's why I like it. The llama is the least of JSMN worries. What about Homer Simpsons pink car chilling inside the house like it pays rent? The llama just broke a window. The car broke the house.

The wordplay and lyrics were really clever on this. I like the Blue Clues line. Steve was the new Bob Ross to the younger generation. Bob Ross was Vegeta. Steve was Trunks. Steve could draw anything. He was cool as shit. Check out the soundtrack for llamas below.

NOAH - CALL YO PHONE

Smooth joint. Trill vocals. Slick lyricism. TyYouGenius on the production and Noah just floats on the track. Short and brief track but so is the message. Every time a real nigga call yo phone pick it up. It's law. It's simple. Check it out below.

DJ NICO - A + M THE MIX

Congratulations to Adrian and Morgan on their union. 2 good people on 1 fun journey. They deserve it. Nico celebrates their love with nothing but dope soul and hip-hop tunes on the mix. From Pastor Shawty Lo to the three wise men Migos to Total to Method Man to Master P to D'Angelo. Cheers to my friends and their love. Mix below

DJ JTR3Y - BILLY BOYO MIX

Well we've reached the end of another "What The Fuck I Listened To Yesterday" entry so you know what that means. JTr3y gone take us home.

I'm not gone front I don't listen to Reggae. I only hear Reggae when I watch "Belly." I only know the super popular reggae songs like "One Spliff" on this mix. I just never paid attention to Reggae but this mix definitely made me a fan. I'm a fuck with Reggae more often. Shit too smooth and changes your mood positively.

R.I.P to Billy Boyo
