A POLITE REVIEW: BOATSHOE HOLLY VS MVP (WORD WAR)

I haven't watched a battle in over a year. The last battle I watched I can't even fucking remember. I usually can't make it through the 1st round and I rarely have the patience for it. I saw my cousin was at this battle and he posted a clip of it on Facebook. I saw the battle again on twitter so I'm like "Fuck it. I got some spare time on my hands. I'll check it out." To my surprise I was actually entertained. Boatshoe Holly (Nigga that is not a typo. It's his name.) vs MVP. The name Boatshoe Holly actually kind of tight when you think about it. Only people I know who wear boat shoes are white married accountants named John who fuck bad bitches that do coke on the side and Frat Boys with dad's for lawyers that help them beat their 3rd DWI and drug posession case. I just picture a nigga on a yacht with boat shoes posted with guns and shit. You get my point. I never seen any of them battle before and I'm not saying that implying that they don't have any clout out here in St.Louis. I just haven't been paying attention to shit. I just watch Hey Arnold all day and roam Pinterest. Typical "out of the way" nigga activities.

I never pick a winner or loser in battles unless it was a clear bodybag. I honestly don't care. I just want to be entertained I don't give a fuck who wins just don't make me regret watching the battle is all I ask. This the first battle I've ever reviewed so yeah. Here we go.

Round 1: I'm not going to front. Looking at this shit I thought I was going to hear some struggle raps and a whole lot of un-organization. Fuck it I was only watching to laugh and maybe joan on niggas being wack. Damn I was wrong. Boatshoe went first and his round was clean as fuck. No slips. Well organized. Delivery was on point. Presence of a veteran was there. I knew I was at least going to watch the first round. I could tell he's been doing this shit for a minute. MVP went his delivery and setups reminded me of a battle rapper name Gjonaj. He mixed seriousness and jokes into his round. The cereal/serial Friday punch was wavy. This round was enjoyable.

Round 2: This was the comedy round. I'm not with the daughter lines that's the only thing I don't really fuck with about battle rap in general is the lines about kids and shit but that cut a nigga in the lunch line shit made me literally made me laugh out loud and fall out my chair. MVP came really joke heavy in this round. He basically flamed this nigga Boat all round and the shit was funny as fuck. This all together was a cool round.

Round 3: This was bar wise both battlers best round and footage wise the shittiest round. Boat spit this dope Northwest Plaza scheme, car scheme, and a Barry/Berry scheme that had me looking like that "What the fuck is going on right now" Mr.Krabs picture on twitter. MVP basically was a different rapper in this round. He just started punching, punching, punching. The momma payne line was disgusting. The milly rock scheme and Gary Payton punch was tough. He just seemed more focused and locked in this round. This was my favorite round because they were scheming and punching each other lives away. Now lets get to the shitty and somewhat funny part. Niggas kept yelling while Boatshoe was rapping. It ruined the potential of a classic round because it takes away the rappers momentum. As a spectator when you have battles this good you're on the edge of your seat waiting to hear what's coming next but when people yelling in the background it also takes the momentum away from the viewer. MVP started yelling "YES!" repeatedly at some random dude questioning Jennings during his round which was the funniest shit ever. He proud as fuck to be from Jennings which is dope. Some of my family from Jennings and still there. We should all be proud where we from. Watching the people behind battle rappers be funny as fuck. You know at least one of those niggas gone yell "TALK TO THIS NIGGA MAN!" or you'll have a nigga just saying a bunch of tough shit and basically discrediting the nigga rapping while he rapping. Shit is hilarious man.

Overall this was a good battle. Both guys came with that shit and it's really a tough battle to call. Not as interested as I used to be in battle rap but if these two battle again in the future I'd surely watch.
