POLITE NOTES: JIGGA JUICED UP
This is Polite Notes. Think of this as commentary of Polite Coolery episodes from a real one. If this your first time reading anything I’ve written on PoliteAsFlannels or hearing the Polite Coolery Podcast I wanna say thank you! Second this is a recap of our podcast with our guest Jay Retro, owner of JiggaJuicedUp. So you know the extra shit on dvd’s and blu-rays that’s called directors commentary that you don’t give a fuck about but supposed to give a fuck about? That’s what Polite Notes is except it’s coming from a nigga with black skin that glows like a God and smells like lavender and ginger.
This edition of Polite Notes is sponsored by dancing ass niggas because being a dancing ass nigga is a big responsibility in the black community. Niggas are basically Miles Morrales. Who really hate the dancing ass nigga forreal? They bring people together. All them niggas do is watch dance videos on YouTube & listen to the same 6 songs on speakerphone and don’t bother anybody. Shoutout to them. I’m not talking bout those krumping ass niggas. Those niggas weird and listen to Joyner Lucas. I’m talking bout dancing ass niggas that enjoy Lil Baby.
So on Polite Coolery we don’t determine who will be a guest based on attention or clout or what a guest can do for us. We will literally have a guest no one has ever heard of or doesn’t do any creative work or don’t have a business at all. We’re all about interest and curiosity. If you interest us we’ll be happy to have you in our space. Majority of the time the guest reach out to us and ask us to be on the podcast.
This episode was born because I saw Retro tweet about lacking in marketing for JiggaJuicedUp. I reached out to help her and offered her to come on Polite Coolery to put some of our listeners on to her business and it would help her marketing. She agreed and we linked up. It’s always important to give to people and we wanted to help and it’s even better that the person we’re helping helps a lot of people herself and is consistently showing love to everyone in the city. Retro is one of the realest, coolest people I’ve ever met. Very self aware and spiritually grounded. Very uplifting personality and most importantly she gets them jokes off. I love people who love to joke.
I don’t like forced things. It doesn’t matter if its good or bad if it’s forced then it’s not for me. What I admire and like about Retro and her company JiggaJuicedUp is that I can feel who she is through her product. I can feel her personality all over what she’s selling. Extension of the creator is important because your customer won’t feel like they’re being sold a dream or sold a lie. Which then builds trust. I can feel the authenticity in JiggaJuicedUp. Retro not out here faking or putting on a face or a fake personality to sell me her product. Retro’s product is an extension of herself and that’s what makes it priceless and makes me wanna spend money with her. It’s more than a transaction. It’s an experience. The people who just care about the sell get burnt out quick because there’s no connection.
There’s so many people out here with brands that built their personality to make it feel like they matter in whatever space they’re trying to get in. The problem with this is that they built a personality that their spirit cant uphold because it’s not truly them. They’re selling a lie. The lie always get caught. People will catch up to the lie because lies and fraudulent behavior not built for marathons. Eventually there’s going to come a time where you have to stand on the bullshit and negativity you put into the world.
I’m not into just buying things cause they look good anymore. I now look into who’s behind the brand and what they stand for and how they treat other people. I don’t care if you treat me with respect but if I find out you disrespect a lot of people I will not support you. We have to hold all brands accountable for how they move in the streets and as one of the older guys in it I feel it’s my responsibility to lead by example.
Marketing is the act of solving consumers problems. When I’m not turnt it’s a problem. I drink JiggaJuicedUp I get turnt and it taste like a black woman made it so it solves that problem. The best products are the products people want to engage in. If I bring a crate of JiggaJuicedUp to the event everyone will try it just because how it’s presented. Presentation matters. JiggaJuicedUp relieves tension. We all need relief in the times we’re living in.
Some people Idea of marketing is narcissistic and short term thinking. All they care about is a sell or they will do whatever it takes to make a sell meaning they may have to act fake to get a sell or get what they want or have hidden intentions disguised as care. Hidden agendas are for the unconfident and fake. JiggaJuicedUp is the OPPOSITE of that. Retro is proud of what she makes and she cares about people. Do you care to make the culture better and push the culture forward or are you pretending to care so you can get a name, make sells and get some money?
It’s all about culture. Strategy is good but culture is greater than strategy. If you want to make a change you have to make culture and JiggaJuicedUp does that.
Love, Benny
